Sundays at 10:00am and 11:30am | Mondays at 7:00pm

You’ve come across something rather odd: A Church For People Who Don’t Like Church. It sounds stupid, but the reality is that there are a lot of people who are looking for God and seeking a spiritual dimension to life, but just don’t want to go to church to find it.

And who can blame them? Most churches seem judgmental and holier than thou. They make you wear your Sunday best, play music from the 1800s, and are too into politics. And they seem to care more about people’s money than people.

So, we are flipping the script on church. We are a church where no perfect people are allowed, because there are no perfect people. Where everyone can come as they are and be themselves. We’re about relationships – loving God and loving people, and turning the world upside down. We are a church that’s fun, relevant, and that can really make a difference in your life.

You might call that odd. We call it Verve. And we’d love for you to check out who we are through this website and then check us out in person. Unless you like church. Because we are definitely church for people who don’t like church.

If you want to check us out, we get together every Sunday morning at 10:00am and 11:30am, and every Monday evening at 7:00pm. What you’ll experience is not typical church. You don’t need to dress up or put on a fake smile; just be yourself and we promise you’ll be comfortable. When we get together, we laugh, we learn, and we grow towards living a love-God, love-people, turn-the-world-upside-down kind of life.

What To Expect

Our services last about 65 minutes. Our band will hit the stage, and you’ll hear a song or two you know, and probably a couple you don’t. You’ll laugh a little, as every week we feature goofy videos, Saturday Night Live-like skits, or hilarious audience interactions. And you’ll hear a message that is straight from the Bible that applies directly to your life.

And you don’t have to worry about standing out. We keep the lights pretty dim, so you can be anonymous if you want. But if you want to be known or ask questions, there’s a connecting place called the Velcro Bar available after every service.

There’s free hot coffee/tea in the lobby, so you may want to show up a few minutes early to grab a cup.

Our Name

Ask someone what comes to mind when you say “Christian” and you’ll hear words like, “boring,” “judgmental,” “religious,” and “too political.” Yet when Jesus explained why he came he said, “I have come that you may have life to the full” (John 10:10). Somehow, Christians have really screwed up what it means to be a Christian.

Verve means liveliness, energy, passion, vitality. We’re trying to restore what Jesus was after. We believe that following Jesus is the greatest adventure life has to offer and leads to lively, energetic, passionate, vital life. It leads to verve.

Ask someone what comes to mind when you say “Church” and you’ll hear words like, “religion,” “polyester suits,” “meaningless rituals,” “holier-than-thou attitudes.” That’s why we say we’re stripping church. We’re removing all that unnecessary garbage and letting it be what its supposed to be: loving God and loving people.

We’re Verve. And we’re stripping church and seeking life.

We're Different

Got some serious doubts about Christianity? Even more negative towards church? Not sure you could fit in, or afraid lightning might strike if you showed up?

Join the club.

Seriously, Verve is made up of people who once felt very far from God and could never picture themselves as part of a church. So, bring your doubts and questions, wear whatever you want, and please don’t feel like you have to put on a fake smile.

At Verve, no perfect people are allowed.
